Saxon Innovation Exchange in Annaberg-Buchholz
Innovative technology offerings and specific areas of application
Good ideas deserve strong partners - this is the traditional motto of the Saxon Innovation Exchange, the current edition of which focused entirely on technologies for smart infrastructures of the future.
Around 40 participants from Saxon SMEs, start-ups and project consortia met in Annaberg-Buchholz to initiate concrete collaborations and partnerships. The participants were welcomed by the Mayor of Annaberg-Buchholz, Thomas Proksch, and the host Sören Claus, member of the board of the cooperation partner Smart Rail Connectivity Campus (SRCC).
After a presentation by Martin Benedict on the topic of smart infrastructures in the Smart City Zwönitz and the specific opportunities and challenges involved, eight representatives from Saxon SMEs, start-ups and project consortia presented their innovative technology offers and applications as well as their potential areas of application in compact pitches. In two workshops in a world café format, the participants then discussed areas of potential in the field and at the interfaces of technical and social infrastructure.
The participants then entered into discussions with entrepreneurs and took the opportunity to initiate cooperation and collaboration. All of the discussion partners were united by the guiding principle that how we design our infrastructures TODAY will largely determine how we live TOMORROW.
Interactions of smart infrastructures - a cross-industry exchange
During the two World Cafés, the participants discussed questions such as:
- How can the service quality of the city be guaranteed in the countryside?
- How can we welcome digitalization with open arms?
- What does the ideal mobility of rural areas look like?
- How can accessibility be achieved?
- What tasks do we want to use the time gained through automation for?
